Terms of Use
These terms apply whenever you browse FurFinds, create an account, use Fifi, publish a request, send or accept a quote, or use platform messaging.
FurFinds is a non-commercial project operated by an individual. It provides discovery and introduction tools but does not sell listed products, hold customer money, fulfil orders or become a party to a customer–supplier sale.
1. Operator and who may use FurFinds
FurFinds is operated by Shane Fletcher as an individual in the United Kingdom. References to “FurFinds”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the FurFinds project and its operator.
You may browse public pages without an account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, publish a request, send a quote, unlock restricted supplier details or use private messaging.
You must provide accurate information, keep your login secure and tell FurFinds promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
2. FurFinds’ role
FurFinds operates a curated supplier directory, product discovery service, customer request board, quote workflow and messaging service. Suppliers are independent third parties.
FurFinds does not inspect every item, independently authenticate every fur or brand claim, guarantee stock, set supplier prices, collect purchase payments, arrange delivery or decide customer refund rights.
3. Approved suppliers and listings
Approval means FurFinds reviewed a supplier application against its current platform requirements. It is not an endorsement or guarantee and may be withdrawn or suspended.
Product descriptions, species, material, brand, condition, measurements, price, availability, shipping and return information are supplied by the supplier unless clearly stated otherwise. Claims may be labelled seller-stated and not independently verified.
4. Purchases, quotes and contracts
Product pages may link to a supplier website, PayPal page, WhatsApp, Instagram, enquiry route or collection arrangement. Those destinations and payment methods are controlled by the relevant third party.
Accepting a quote records your interest and may open a private conversation. It does not make FurFinds the seller, payment provider or contracting party. Whether and when a contract forms between customer and supplier depends on their communications, the supplier’s terms and applicable law.
Customers should check the seller’s identity, total price, delivery terms, returns and payment protection before paying. Suppliers remain responsible for consumer-law duties where they act as traders.
5. Requests, quotes and messages
Requests and messages must be genuine, lawful and relevant to finding or supplying products. Do not use them for harassment, spam, scraping, phishing, fraud or pressure to use an unsafe payment arrangement.
FurFinds may use automated controls and human review to detect abuse. Authorised administrators may access content where reasonably necessary for support, safety, investigation, enforcement or legal compliance.
6. Fifi and third-party results
Fifi is an automated shopping assistant. It may use remembered chat details, approved supplier data, search providers and live third-party pages to suggest products.
Fifi can make mistakes. Prices, stock, links, product details and material claims may be incomplete, outdated or seller-stated. Check the original source before relying on a result or paying. Fifi does not provide legal, financial, tax, valuation or authenticity advice.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit and confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload, publish or send it.
You grant FurFinds a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format and display submitted content as needed to operate, secure, improve and promote the platform. Removed content may remain temporarily in backups or evidence records where needed for safety, disputes or law.
8. Platform action
FurFinds may refuse content, limit features, pause a listing, restrict contact details, suspend an account or remove a user where reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, investigate a report, comply with law or protect the service.
Where appropriate, FurFinds will explain the decision and provide an appeal route. Immediate action may be taken without advance warning where there is a safety, fraud, security or legal risk.
9. Availability and liability
FurFinds is provided on an as-available basis. Features, external links and third-party listings may change, fail or disappear. FurFinds does not promise uninterrupted access or that every result will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FurFinds is not responsible for losses caused by an independent supplier or seller, including product quality, authenticity, payment, non-delivery, returns or communications outside the platform.
FurFinds does not exclude liability where exclusion would be unlawful, including fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Changes and governing law
FurFinds may update these terms when the service, law, operator status or risk profile changes. Material changes will be highlighted through the site or account area where practical.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers keep any mandatory rights and court access available under applicable law.
