Safety & Reporting
FurFinds reviews supplier applications, but no approval process can remove every risk. Use the checks below before sending money or personal information.
Approval is a platform access decision, not a guarantee. Report concerns early so FurFinds can investigate and protect other users.
Before paying a supplier
- Confirm the supplier’s identity, website and contact details independently.
- Ask for current photographs or video showing the exact item, labels, measurements and condition.
- Request provenance or permit evidence where species or cross-border wildlife rules may apply.
- Check the full price, currency, delivery cost, dispatch time, returns policy and import charges.
- Use a payment method with suitable buyer protection and understand any exclusions.
- Be cautious if bank details suddenly change, the seller creates urgency, or the price is implausibly low.
What can be reported
- A supplier, customer or account.
- A product, customer request, quote, supplier post or message.
- Suspected counterfeit, stolen goods or false species or material claims.
- Fraud, harassment, threats, spam, impersonation or unsafe payment pressure.
- Illegal content, protected-species concerns or intellectual-property infringement.
- A Fifi result that links to illegal, misleading or clearly unavailable content.
How to report
Use “Report this page” on a product, supplier profile or curated-find page. Private request conversations also provide controls to report the full conversation or an individual message, and participants can block further contact.
Explain what happened and preserve relevant screenshots, URLs, dates, messages and payment records securely. The in-product form accepts text only. Never send passwords, full payment-card numbers, identity documents or suspected child sexual abuse images or files.
If the in-product route cannot be used, email no-reply@furfinds.online with the subject “Safety report”. Suppliers may also use the private support inbox in their dashboard.
What FurFinds does next
FurFinds creates a private case record, assesses urgency and keeps a timeline of review and enforcement decisions. A conversation may be frozen immediately while a serious report is investigated.
Possible outcomes include no action, a warning, content removal, account restrictions, suspension, permanent removal or referral to a payment provider, marketplace, rights holder or authority.
Urgent danger or crime
FurFinds is not an emergency service and the reporting route is not continuously monitored. Contact the police or relevant emergency service where someone is in immediate danger. Report suspected payment fraud promptly to your bank or payment provider as well as to FurFinds.
FurFinds is operated by Shane Fletcher as an individual in the United Kingdom. It is currently a non-commercial project and is not a limited company. Contact: no-reply@furfinds.online.
